The great unknown

The little bass drop when the first verse comes in, the guitars in the chorus, the high-pitched tom rolls that are reminiscent of Thumper, Destabilise and Quelle Surprise. God, I can't overstate how much this song has surprised me. This however feels like an absolute adrenaline rush from start to finish. Why is the production on this song SO much better than on the others? There's no soul in the other songs, the production is so lifeless that they feel absolutely devoid of energy. So much better when he sings in his range, as opposed to making up dumb voices in order to hit melodies he can't hit otherwise. This is the first genuinely excellent Rou vocal performance since Torn Apart honestly. The rest of the songs that have been released from this album have been hugely disappointing for me, but this is absolutely immense.

The first great song they've had (imo) since The Mindsweep.
